Malborough is dominated by All Saints Church, a landmark which can be seen for many miles around (if anybody is lost and wants to get back to the Old Vicarage they only have to head for the church - the house is adjacent!). The Church dates back to the 13th century and several local manors were mentioned in the Domesday book. The village is more tranquil than Salcombe and Kingsbridge, and has its own character with many thatched cottages and old houses.
There is a post office and garage with a small supermarket close by the Old Vicarage, together with two public houses and The Lodge Hotel. The owner of the Old Vicarage also operates The this hotel (www.lodge-churchills.co.uk) which is 100 metres from the property and which can provide additional accommodation for up to 19 guests. In addition two further holiday cottages each accomodating 6 guests are also available to rent.
